Geological & Cultural Trip Itinerary Sample

DAY 1

Arrive from Flights into the city of Casablanca. We will begin the trip flying into Casablanca where we will group up at a large Airbnb within 5 min of airport. Regrouping and resting up for the following days travel East. This will be adjusted if guests arrive in the morning in which we will drive to Midelt to stay at Moonrise Avila for the night, stopping at several incredible spots on the way.

DAY 2 - 3

Travel to Merzouga for a stay at “Riad Chebba” night 1 & “Desert Camp” night 2. Here we will visit the world famous fossil beds known as the “Kem-Kem Beds”, known for its ancient Aquatic Dinosaur sea fossils. We will also have the opportunity for Mineral dig sites, Sidexside tour, Prado excursion or camel trek through the dunes, all can be chosen separately by members of the group to meet up for dinner at the luxury “Desert Camp” where the evening will have a 3 course dinner and native song and dance, topped off by one of the least light polluted places on the planet (get your star gaze on from atop a dune).

DAY 4 - 5

Travel to Midelt at the base of the juncture of Middle and High atlas for a stay at “Moonrise Villa”. Here we will spend several days diving deeper into the geological diversity that Morocco has to offer. Visiting active mines nearby such as Mibladen, Ahouli, Tounfite, Boumia as well as an incredible Berber Agate field. Other interest in the area included for this location are; a locals customary culinary class with a native Amazigh family (berber), and a visit to local natural hot springs.

DAY 6

Travel to Meknes for a stay at the “Riad Yacout” or “Riad Le Petit Ksar”. Meknes has incredible historical sites dating back to the silk road and Romans. We will visit ancient tunnels and prisons, Roman surface ruins as well as view the incredible architecture old medina. As this is the final location before traveling back to Casablanca we will have an incredible dinner prepared overlooking the cities famous El Hadin Sqaure. At this location guests will have the opportunity to shop in one of the best Medina in the country getting local pricing options from our partnered textile shops.

DAY 7 - 8

Travel to Casablanca in the afternoon for stay near Airport in Large Airbnb. Stay will be available for two days as guests make their flights out. Time can be used to explore the beach or city based on timing of flights out.

    • $2500.00 is all inclusive, with added option you can inquire about having us book your flight as well, under our United Club Membership you will be covered up to $100,000 usd emergency health coverage as well as lost baggage. (flights range typically between 400-1000$)

  • Trip Stays and itineraries Subject to change based on group size. It is necessary to stay flexible as local things/events sometimes arise.

  • Booking is Refundable 100% before November 1st 2024, 75% before December 1st ‘24, 50% before January 1st ‘25, Non-Refundable after February 1st ‘25. (Applies to March ‘25 Tour)

  • All Breakfast & Dinners are Provided at location of nightly stay, ample stops and opportunities each day for Lunch/Snacks.

  • Trip guide is CPR/First Aid/Emergency Responder Certified

  • Cell coverage is readily available at all times during the trip. Wifi at all overnight stays.

  • Trip is catered to the guests, flexibility in pursuing interest is encouraged, Morocco has a plethora of attractions and your guide will be knowledgable in providing stops along the routes to show interest that align with group participants.

  • All Guests will have the opportunity to ship anything they would like free of charge with my pallets that arrive for Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, pickup will be in Tucson at the show following in January. (This does not include Fossil remains as they are prohibited by Authorities)

  • Tipping is not required but greatly appreciated if you enjoy your trip & guides, our tours strive to provide the most available activities and stops, while maintaining trip prices 30-40% below other companies in country.
